ScottTech, LLC has successfully upgraded Dayton VAMC’s SPD (Supply, Processing, and Distribution) warehouse control system.
The upgrade performed included installing the latest version PickPro WCS™ software (v8.1), a new server and four workstations.
The system utilizes White Systems® and Raymond® horizontal carousels and light directed picking to maximize the throughput while minimizing the space of the central stores facility. ScottTech installed PickPro ICS™ control inventory software that controls the 6 horizontal carousels and the light directed picking in the stock room.
ScottTech worked with SPD Chief Alan Lee and Day Shift Supervisor Stephen Munroe to install, test, and place the system into production. Minimal assistance was required by the VA’s I.R.M. (Information Resources Management) staff to bring the system live.
Description of Project
Orders are received from OminCell for replenishment of the Unit stockrooms at the center. Once the orders are imported into PickPro WCS™ from the HL7 interface they are processed quickly for delivery to the units. Completed transactions are then exported from PickPro™ and processed by the OmniCell interface to the VA GIP (Generic Inventory Package) system.
The main goal of the SPD WCS project was;
